Riverstone Counselling is committed to protecting your privacy and handling personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What information is collected
Personal information may be collected when you make an enquiry, book an appointment, or attend counselling sessions. This may include your name, contact details, date of birth, and information relevant to providing counselling services, including health information. When you use this website or book online, information such as your name, email address, and appointment details may be collected by this website and by Coviu, the platform used for online bookings and telehealth sessions. Coviu is an Australian-based platform. You can view Coviu's privacy policy at coviu.com.
How information is used
Information is used solely for the purpose of providing counselling services, responding to enquiries, managing appointments, and meeting professional and legal obligations.
AI-assisted note-taking
I use Coviu AI Scribe to assist with clinical note-taking during sessions. This tool generates a draft summary of the session. Consent is obtained before it is used. Once notes are generated, the audio recording and transcription are deleted. Notes are reviewed and edited before being saved to your file. AI-generated notes are stored in the same secure way as all other session records.
Storage and security
Reasonable steps are taken to protect personal information from misuse, loss, or unauthorised access. Session records are stored securely and retained for a minimum of 7 years in accordance with professional and legal requirements.
Disclosure
Personal information is not shared with third parties except where required by law, where you have given consent, or where there is a serious and imminent risk to safety.
Access and correction
You may request access to or correction of your personal information by contacting Riverstone Counselling directly.
